Last week I joined the staff meeting at the Rudolf Steiner School at Kuranda.  We spent two hours discussing and trying out a range of possibilities for using clay in the classroom.

Each teacher produced something sculptural, appropriate to the level of the students they teach. We looked at a range of approaches to hand building, and a lot of information about clay and what works and what doesn't work in the classroom.

They were a fantastic and creative bunch to work with and some of the sculptural results in our short session were fabulous.

On Tuesday we Had a huge day at the Kuranda District State College glass slumping workshop.

22 enthusiastic participants worked steadily all day, with Students from grade 6, grade 12 and every grade in between attending.

We looked at a range of glass work that can be found in Kuranda, then produced experimental glass slump moulds in a variety of ways.

We produced so much that it will take a couple of weeks to get everything through the kiln - I hope to post some of the results here later.

I'm part way through a series of workshops at Candlenut Rudolf Steiner School. Students are making multicolour T-shirt prints through combining hand cut paper stencils and photo-emulsion stencils. The students have worked excellently and we are beginning to see some great results.
